Recreat

Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

Recreat lets you photograph a dish, get an AI-generated recipe for it, and share it with other people. This policy explains what information Recreat collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@catalystcx.ai.

Information we collect

Account information

Your email address is stored only with our sign-in provider and is never shown to other users.

Content you create

Photos and camera

Recreat asks for camera and photo library access only so you can choose a photo to post or use as your profile picture. We access only the photos you select.

What we don't collect

Recreat does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools, does not collect your location, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

The app also stores a few settings on your device only, such as whether you've seen the welcome walkthrough and whether you've allowed photos to be sent for recipe writing.

How we use your information

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

What other users can see

Posts (photo, dish name, restaurant, notes, and recipe), your username, your profile photo, your comments and ratings, and who you follow and who follows you (shown as counts on your profile) are public. Anyone using Recreat, including people who are not signed in, can see them, and anyone you share a post link with can open it. Your likes, saves, shopping list, blocked users, and reports are private to you.

AI recipe generation

When you create a post (or ask for a new recipe for one of your posts), your photo and the dish name are sent to Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI model that writes the recipe. The app asks for your permission before sending your first photo. Anthropic processes them only to generate the recipe for us and, under its commercial terms, does not use this data to train its models. Your email address and account details are not sent to Anthropic.

AI-generated recipes can be inaccurate or incomplete. See our Terms of Use for important food-safety information.

Service providers

We rely on these providers to run Recreat. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, posts, photos, comments, ratings, likes, saves, follows, shopping list, and blocked-user list. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Recreat's access to your Apple ID.

Reports you submitted, and limited records needed to prevent abuse, may be kept for up to 12 months after you delete your account so we can finish reviewing them.

You can also edit or delete individual posts, change your username and profile photo, or email us to request a copy of your data or ask a question.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted by security rules so only you can change your account and content. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Recreat is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to how it is used. You can do most of this in the app; for anything else, email support@catalystcx.ai.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
